WINGLESS WARFARE & SPRINTCAR STATE TITLE KICK OFF BORDERLINE SEASON

Official Release: Tuesday December 6, Finish Line Media

After a rainout two weeks ago, Season 2022/23 kicks off this Saturday Night at Borderline Speedway with a huge double header being the re-scheduled SA Sprintcar Title and Round 2 of the Ti Bills SA Wingless Sprints SA Series.

The re-scheduled SA Sprintcar Title has attracted a high-quality field with last week’s Feature Winner from Eastern Creek Brock Hallett, current SRA champion Daniel Pestka, fan favourite and local Steven Lines while other local drivers in action will be Glen Sutherland and Scott Enderl with Enderl finishing on the podium back in October at Murray Bridge. Tasmania’s Jock Goodyer has also entered and was looking good for a podium finish last week in Sydney in the race Hallett won until the front end decided to not play the game. Goodyer will be one of the favourites this week the new blue & red livery on the Platinum Prints/Goodyer Developments car certainly stands out. Fellow Tasmanian Tate Frost will also be in the field also in a livery for the T62. The SA contingent is also out in force with last week’s Aussie Racing Cars winner at the Valo 500 Joel Heinrich, Lisa Walker, Ryan Jones, Luke Dillon who took the win in this race back in 2002, Hayden Pitt, Ben Morris, Steven Caruso, Chad Ely, Brendan Quinn, Ricky Maiolo, while the Downing Bros will once again have David Murcott pilot the #97 machine this season and will be another one to watch. Its great to see Borderline regulars from Victoria in Grant Stansfield, Peter Doukas, Robert Paton, & Phil Micallef also nominated to run this Saturday.

In what is a Borderline Speedway record for this class a staggering 56 nominations have been received for the Round 2 of the Ti Bills SA Wingless Sprints and cudos must go to the organisers for this series as the Wingless racing has been great this season so far. Round 1 winner Joel Chadwick will be looking to double up but he will have some serious competition in the form of current state champion Tyson Martin who took the event out 12mths ago on this very weekend, Jack McCarthy, Local stars Mitchell Broome, Kirby Hillyer & Rory Button, Keke Falland, Hayden Vickers, Bronson Mauro, Robert Heard & Rylan Furler just to name a few while the Victorian contingent will be out in force with former Australian champion Alex Ross, Luke Storer, Luke McCutcheon, Luke Weel, Blake Walsh, Carly Walsh, Chris Halesworth plus many more making the trek across the border.

The format for the evening is Time Trials in Hot Laps, Two Heats Per Car, C Main, B Main with the top 20 contesting the A Final.
